THE BIRTH OF SEMPLE
After experiencing a (fortunately non-fatal) allergic reaction to university, Oleta Semple decided to rebel, explore her cutting-edge yet regal fashion sense, and channel her creativity into her brand - built on subtle rebellion. Semple London became her playground, a space to express freedom and embody the brand motto “destroy fear & remain true (to self),” which took shape around 2018.
During this time, self-expression, mindfulness, and maintaining a balanced ‘creation to consumption ratio’ were vital to her. Countless moments were spent in flow, indulging in what she loved most: fabric shopping, repurposing old pieces, sketching, draping, playing with elastic trimmings, and diving fearlessly into projects on her industrial singer sewing machine—always singing, without a plan or a stitch of doubt.
Today, Oleta and her team design and handcraft meaningful garments, accessories, and unique pieces as a way to share soul-nourishing energy, messages, and love with the world. The aim? To inspire a desire to live slower; beautifully-imperfect lives that overflow with joy and fulfilment.
